Water games, lake romance & a bathing paradise
Refreshingly cool or pleasantly warm and wet, crystal clear water or healing water from Austria’s third most potent sulphur spring. This is what makes romance on the lake and a bathing paradise.
Big and small lakes present themselves in all their variety in our holiday region: naturally for swimmers and for those who want to relax on a deck chair or in a flower meadow, for those who want to row a boat or take a pedalo out on the lake. No concreted over and fenced off shore lines are allowed here, but unspoilt swimming fun from an informal lido or in a pleasant open air pool, or simply stroll along the lakeshores in the villages of the holiday region.
All the lakes are clear and pure and are an open invitation to leap into the refreshing water and to enjoy days of swimming in the Tyrol. But it is not only water babies who have a good time in our lakes but also to “cast a line” here is a popular and very promising leisure pastime.
|KUFSTEIN - Hechtsee|
|The heavenly natural lakes, not least the Egelsee, which is a nature conservation area, are true gems of nature. Lakes and streams with drinking quality water surrounded by a wonderful backdrop. Dive in!
The Hechtsee, as the most popular bathing lake for Kufsteiners, is also an El Dorado for joggers and walkers. No matter what the weather, a walk or run round the lake is a special tip.
Enjoy the fantastically beautiful mountain backdrop. Enjoy the panoramic view in all its glory from the sun terrace of the See restaurant.
|LANGKAMPFEN - Stimmersee|
|Idyllically surrounded by meadows and forests at the foot of the Pendling, lies the Stimmersee, which is popular for swimming with locals and visitors in summer.
You can enjoy the idyll of the lake at the lido at the Stimmersee inn or at the other end of the lake is a heavenly sunbathing meadow surrounded by leafy trees.
|SCHWOICH - "Bananensee"|
|The first biotope-bathing lake in the Tyrol was opened in the summer of 1998.
The facility, directly on the edge of the woods, not only provides a refreshing experience with its pure, crystal clear water, but also invites you to walk round the shore of our “Bananensee” (so-called by locals because of its shape).
|THIERSEETAL - "Thiersee"|
|In summer, the 25 degree water attracts not just avid swimmers and sun worshippers but also water sportsmen and women.
You can hire pedalos, rowing boats and dolphin boats from the lido, a high-diving board and an aqua jump are at your disposal and, in the summer, the Thiersee is a true El Dorado for surfers. You can also keep fit with beach volleyball and there is a huge playground next door for the youngsters.
You can also find glorious sunbathing meadows and idyllic bays round the lake.
|BAD HÄRING - "Plitsch Platsch" open air pool|
|The open air pool has newly been re-opened under the name Plitsch Platsch. It includes a non-swimmers pool, a pool with the three staring blocks and a mother and child area. One of the biggest attractions is the big waterslide as well as the Wellness island with whirlpool.
A beach volleyball court is available for the sportily inclined. A paddling pool, a “frog slide”, the dragon’s shower and a playpool with pirate ship are provided in the mother and child area.
As regards rehab and cures, the Plitsch Platsch provides invalid access to the pool as well as invalid showers and toilets.
|EBBS - Fun arena " HALLO DU" and adventure and leisure park Ebbs|
|The range of varied facilities for active families and kids is particularly wide in summer. Aside from the 66 m big water slide and the 3 lane, wide slide (17 m), the generously sized swimming and adventure pools and the paddling pool, there are different attractions such as “Wasserpilz”, elephant slide, knights’ tower etc…!
Nor must you overlook the big sunbathing field with its adventure playground (pirate ship). A particular attraction are the two beach volleyball courts. Irrespective of whether you are spectating or playing – street hockey, in-line skating, skateboarding, and almost any type of ball game are called for. But if you are more interested in skittles, there are 4 professional size alleys (open all year round) and of course the cosy restaurant with sun terrace and an all-round view of the facility.
